It also mentions when you die in easy mode, you lose nothing. The menu mentions that in hard mode when you die, you lose everything.
The keys are not changeable, which is always annoying to me in any PC game.
The entire menu is full of Xbox controller prompts, even when I am not using an Xbox controller. While on the topic of PC, let’s talk about the PC port, shall we? For something that took two years to finish, the PC port is simply terrible. At the small price of $1.00 on Xbox, CastleMiner Z became the go-to game to hold those people over while they awaited Mojang to port Minecraft.ĭue to the reason this game was even made, it came to me as a shock when it was not only ported to PC, but also greenlit by the Steam community. At the time, Minecraft had not yet been ported to Xbox, so DigitalDNA Games created this mess of a game to try and steal the Minecraft audience who just couldn’t wait for it to be ported and had to have it RIGHT NOW (like that annoying Geico commercial which in this case tends to be pretty accurate).
The reason why the date and where this was originally published is relevant is because the whole thing was a sales tactic by DigitalDNA Games. It’s easily beaten by many other indie games that weren’t added to the indie arcade, like Minecraft, Terraria, etc. In fact, DigitalDNA Games claim CastleMiner Zto be the all-time best-selling indie game on the Xbox Live Arcade, but what they really mean is that it’s the all-time best-selling indie game on the indie arcade, not Xbox as a whole. CastleMiner Zwas released in 2011 on the Xbox Live Indie Arcade, which is a store on the Xbox platforms in which indie developers can publish their games. For the most part, you wouldn’t be entirely wrong to feel this way. To those of you who play Minecraft, you will most likely feel like CastleMiner Zis a modified version of Minecraft with an HD texture pack, guns, and dragons. The first thing you’ll notice about CastleMiner Zupon playing is the resemblance and similarity to Mojang’s famous survival/sandbox Minecraft. Now before you pass this review off as just a troll saying mean things about an indie game, let us take the time to mine into the exact details of why I dislike the waste of time and money that is CastleMiner Z(pun intended). I can honestly state, that in my opinion, CastleMiner Zis the worst game I have ever played that I can remember. That was until CastleMiner Zshowed me what a truly bad game is. They are working on it damn people.Genre: First-Person Shooter, Survival, Action/AdventureĪ few weeks ago I reviewed a game called Redshirt, developed by The Tiniest Shark, and I gave it a pretty poor review and went as far as to state that it was the worst game I have played in quite a while. Then they gave out copys to beta testers and they gave steam keys to people that got it through promotions on their website and now they even lowerd the base price to $4.99.
I dont know why people are Complaining so much DigitalDNA first gave the game out for free on their website. This company has put more effort on updating there games then any other company on the xbox indie game market place. I played CastleMiner and their other games.
I have played CMZ ever since it came out on xbox and even before it came out. They are focusing there effort to please the moriarty of there audience. I know that they will bring back full controller support sometime in the furture. So they released the new menu without controller support cause the limited time they had to make the new build. They only removed it for the time being is cause tons of people were complaining that the menu system was not with PC Bindings. The stable or normal build still has most of the controller functionality still in the game.
It is not false advertising the 1.7 update is a beta build. Seeing this game is ported from xbox 360. This game is not playable without mouse in any way. That's how Valve employee cleared out about tags at the time of Big Picture beta. Partial means controller works in-game, though some menus may require mouse or keyboard for some small things like text input or to select options. Full controller support means you can experience the game at full without need of keyboard or mouse from the first launch to the end of game (or getting all achievements for example). You can't even exit options or use inventory. Originally posted by that's what she said:1.7 version came out and it still DOESN'T have full controller support.
